While my efforts here certainly don't compare with the artistic talents of Craig and Paul and others who've been wow-ing us lately with their inlay prowess, they are the two biggest single pieces I've ever cut and to be honest I can't believe they didn't break, so I thought I'd share with the class.

That whole thing was one sentence. I hope my high school English teacher doesn't see this.

Hey John,

Very nice. How are you holding your shell down when cutting? Sacraficial board?

Well, you may not be a Faulkner, who was famous for run-on sentences, and so English teachers should stand down right about now, that is a sweet bit o' inlay candy.

John, your personality's definitely coming through! This portion should
be separated into two independent clauses:

To be honest - I can't believe they didn't break. I thought I'd share with
the class.

Ok, so I'm not actually an english teacher yet. But I'm still working in
a school and only have a few classes left to get the english credential.

Those are definitely sweet!

Beautiful work John. You must have made many, many, shallow passes. Where did you find such large pearl? Or maybe it just looks big beacuse the letters are so small...

Great work John!

Sure makes me glad my surname isn't as long as Kragenbrink or that I don't pine over gals named Gwendolyn -- that would make for a really big headstock.

Thanks, guys.

The Gwendolyn inlay isn't for Lance, I was just cutting them at the same time.

Paul, yes I use a spoil board.

Joe, most suppliers can get those big blanks. I try to always buy blanks that are perfect rectangles. Otherwise, it takes forever to lay out in the CNC.

Impressive to say the least....

Is that solid pearl or Abacadabralam?

I do believe I've found a new pearl guy!

Really nice. I just don't think I could cut anything that sharp. I may have to give up artistic expression for the crisp, clean detail. That is just so impressive!
